Join us for another Music in the Park summer series with an amazing lineup of Blues/Soul/Jazz artists. Featuring the KP Project, Willie G, DeJeana Burkes, and Takezo. There will also be activities for kids, including a bounce house, face painting, bubbles station, and food by Yummy Hot Dogs!

About KP Project ft. Willie G and DeJeana Burkes
Ken “the groove-meister” Pruitt fell in love with music at age 13. He is one of the on-air personalities of the Jazzline Sessions at KPFA 94.1 FM. A Richmond native and schooled in Berkeley, formed the KP Project and have been playing for 8 years but collectively this group has over 60 years’ experience playing blues, jazz, and classic R & B. You can catch them at private parties, country clubs, Burlingame Jazz Festivals, and Oakland’s Art & Soul, Jeffries in Oakland. This unique multi-cultural band are musicians from a variety of backgrounds bringing a range of blues and soul to this event. KP Project has invited Blues Singer and artists Willie G and the soulful “voice of your choice” DeJeana Burkes to perform.

Willie G' is a showbiz veteran of more than 45 years. Hailing from Hallsville, TX, he's a powerful vocalist who delivers his unique flavor of high energy with every soulful performance. About DeJeana Burkes
DeJeana loves music, especially the Blues. She enjoys the storytelling the Blues genre embodies and the opportunities to perform live on stages. Whether performing at Yoshi’s, Marina Lounge, Eli’s Mile High Club, locally, or on festival stages that include Richmond’s Juneteenth, The North Richmond Music Festival, From Dusk til Dawn in Rentiesville, OK and The King Biscuit Blues Festival, Helena, AK DeJeana puts on an exciting and memorable show.
About Yoshinobu Takeda (Takezo)
Yoshinobu Takeda, a.k.a. Takezo, was born in Kagawa, Japan, and grew up in Kyoto. Takezo began singing in bands and composing music at the age of 12. Among his earliest influences were American movie soundtracks, The Beatles, and Otis Redding. He is a developed musician, singer, guitarist and composer with music found on YouTube, Spotify and iTunes. His instincts brought him to San Francisco, California in 1985 to pursue a career in music. Since then he has performed as a rhythm and blues singer/guitarist with artists such as Elvin Bishop, Angela Strehli, Joe Louis Walker, Norton Buffalo, and many others.
