About Dee Dee Simon
At a young age, she was fortunate to receive acting and vocal training from the Late Director, Priscilla Turner which inspired her to audition for leading roles. She picked up more vocal training while at UC Berkeley and continued to hone her theatrical training under Director Beverly Monocco.
She played in Dreamgirls as ‘Effie,’ the Marvin Gaye Story as ‘Tammy Terrell,’ Beauty and the Soulful Beast as ‘Beauty,’ Unforgettable, the Natalie Cole Story as ‘Natalie Cole,’ A Cabin in the Sky, He ain’t to be Played with, and many more.
Dee Dee has written a short novel, When a Man Loves a Woman. She has also written and produced five stage plays that have toured the Northern and Southern California area. She now has 2 productions up and running titled, Misery Loves Company which has hit cities: Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, Berkeley, San Francisco, Ca, Atlanta, GA, with raving reviews and “CORETTA” THE ONE WOMAN STAGE PLAY. She is a vocal coach and currently teaches at the Tony School of Music.
