Please join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of renovations to the North Berkeley Senior Center. The Senior Center will house a wide variety of activities, classes and services for seniors and the community.
This project was funded by Measure T1 and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation grant. The project includes Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades, a seismic retrofit to improve the safety and functionality of the building in the event of an earthquake, solar panels and other energy efficiency upgrades, new roofing, renovation of the building interior, landscaping and a newly designed entrance incorporating public art. The center will also serve as a Care and Shelter facility during emergencies.
