On June 19th, the 35th Annual Berkeley Juneteenth Festival will occur along the Alcatraz-Adeline Avenue corridor.

Berkeley Police Department along with our neighboring agencies, the Oakland and Albany Police Department would like to announce the arrest of Tommy Giles Jr. Giles Jr. was placed under arrest for various sexual assault and kidnapping charges due to the following cases in Albany, Berkeley and Oakland.

In an effort to promote trust and accountability, the department is publishing its data in easily accessible dashboards for the public. 

To alleviate any uncertainty about the laws surrounding the devices, we wanted to provide the community with some basic information about them.

During May’s Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, the Berkeley Police Department reminds drivers to always look twice for motorcycles.

On the evening of April 29th, the Berkeley Police Department conducted a DUI/CDL checkpoint on San Pablo Avenue near Cedar Street between 9 pm and 1:30 am.

On May 3rd at 9:30 pm, officers responded to a residence on the 1100 block of Channing Way after a report of a man injured by gunfire.
