Visit the City’s animal shelter, complete a simple adoption application, and you can take home a new best friend. Kitten adoption fees waived through August.

Summer is here, and so are a slew of kittens.
These fluffballs are 2 to 3 months old and all came from foster families on Saturday, one of a series of batches over the coming weeks.
They include Ozzy (who likes a good snuggle), Cordelia (who’s curious about everything), Fiona (who gets wrapped up in play), Milton (who is determined to charm everyone he meets), and many others.
We don’t know why so many little felines have ended up in our care. But having more than ever before is an opportunity for you: more choices! Plus, we’ve waived adoption fees for these little guys through August.
And if you can’t make it in right away, don’t despair. We’re expecting more foster kittens to be ready for adoption through August.

The simple adoption application will help us prepare you for your new pet. We also offer adoption counseling to help new owners learn the basics.
All shelter cats are neutered or spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped before going to their forever home. If the kitty you’re interested in still needs these procedures done, the adoption process may take a week.
About Berkeley Animal Care Services
Berkeley's animal shelter, known as Berkeley Animal Care Services, is the only shelter in Berkeley that opens its doors to any dog or cat in Berkeley that needs a new home. We also take on injured wildlife, which we transfer to wildlife rescues.
We provide comprehensive veterinary care, socialization, and training to ensure that our dogs, cats, and other animals are ready for their new homes. We support pet owners in need, including offering veterinary services to our unhoused community.
You can become one of our many volunteers, who make sure animals in our care are well loved during the preparation process.
