Berkeley, California (Friday, October 01, 2021) - Take tours to learn how Berkeley manufacturers make bronze sculptures, beer, and wine.
During Bay Area Manufacturing Week (October 1-8), community members are invited to have a bit of fun while learning about the innovative technologies, jobs and people involved in manufacturing in our city. The free tours are organized by local businesses and the City's Office of Economic Development, which helps local businesses access the resources, financing, and information they need to thrive - and feel welcome in Berkeley.
The Rare Barrel, Artworks Foundry, Donkey & Goat Winery, Covenant Wines, and Hammerling Wines are just a few examples of Berkeley companies that manufacture products in our city, producing items from craft beer to fine art and wine.
Register online through Eventbrite for a free tour.

Berkeley's Manufacturing Week tours are part of a regional Bay Area Manufacturing Week 2021 event series organized by the Bay Area Urban Manufacturing Initiative to promote and revitalize urban manufacturing, an essential part of the Bay Area economy.
All tours will be conducted using COVID-19 protocols. We will limit the number of people allowed on each tour to increase physical distance. Everyone will be required to be masked while indoors, though the majority of the tours will take place outside. Tour attendees will be required to show proof of full vaccination - at least two weeks after the 1-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two weeks after either the Moderna or Pfizer 2-dose series.
With more than 100 producers in the city's West Berkeley industrial district, manufacturing is an economic driver for our community. Moreover, the unique products produced locally serve as a draw for tourists - and the Made in Berkeley microguide, produced by the city's convention and visitor bureau, Visit Berkeley, shows visitors and residents alike where to find the businesses that are making their unique products on site.
