Officers arrested a 36-year-old San Francisco man on suspicion of several weapon and drug related offenses after trying to follow a woman home.
On November 29th at 2:05 am, a bartender (a women in her 20’s) called to report that a vehicle appeared to have been following her as she was driving home from San Francisco. To confirm her suspicions, the woman got off the freeway in Berkeley to see if the vehicle would also follow after her. She then called Berkeley PD and dispatchers directed her to drive to the police station so that officers could stop the suspicious vehicle.
On MLK Jr. Way, just passed the police station, officers spotted the suspicious vehicle following the woman. Officers subsequently stopped the suspicious vehicle and detained the driver. Looking through the vehicle’s windows, officers spotted a loaded handgun on the floorboard of the vehicle. When officers searched the vehicle, they also found crack cocaine, several crack pipes, a flashlight taser, gloves, and a BB gun. Officers also learned that the loaded handgun was reportedly stolen from Richmond.
Based on this, officers arrested the suspect (a 36-year-old San Francisco man) on suspicion of several weapon and drug related offenses.
