The land for the Prince Street Mini-Park was acquired and cleared in August 1968, funded by Ford Foundation, Gold Medal, and City monies. Around 1970, plans were developed, with community members very active in the planning process. Due to age, use, and vandalism, the park required complete renovation in the late 1990s, with the project completed in 2000.
