Sixty-Third Street Mini-Park was funded by Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) monies. Funds were allocated in 1973 to acquire the site, and the park was developed in 1974. In the late 1990s, the Friends of Sixty-Third Street Mini-Park worked with the City to redesign and refurbish the play area.
