Property collected as evidence, recovered from any source, or turned over as found property or for safe-keeping, is stored in the Property and Evidence Room.
Property releases are conducted by appointment only.

For questions or to inquire about whether your lost property has been turned over to the police department, please call us at (510) 981-5725 or send an email to propertyroom@berkeleyca.gov.
When reaching out, please include the following information:
- Full name
- Date of Birth
- Contact information (phone number and/or email address
- Case number
- Brief description of your request
Scheduling an Appointment
Property releases are conducted by appointment, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with the exception of holidays observed by the City of Berkeley, between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
