You have kids. We have eggs. If you’ve got a Berkeley kid from age 1 to 13, we have egg hunts and other activities to keep them busy on April 3 and 4.
Berkeleyans who have a toddler, a middle schooler or a child somewhere in between can have their little ones scamper through the grass in pursuit of eggs.
If you’re in middle school, you’ll use your flashlight to find your way under a Friday night sky in search of glow-in-the-dark eggs. Prizes include ear buds and virtual reality headset.
Younger kids will scavenge on a Saturday morning alongside those their age and then take part in a mini-festival of activities. We’ll have a petting zoo, crafts, games, chances to earn prizes and even bunny hop dance lessons.
Middle schoolers can join us on the night of Friday, April 3, at Grove Park. All younger kids should come out on the morning of Saturday, April 4, at the Berkeley Waterfront. Pre-register online to save time.
Friday, April 3: Glow-in-the-Dark Flashlight Egg Hunt at Grove Park
Fifth through eighth graders: bring your flashlights and light up the dark with a Friday night egg search. When you arrive, you’ll receive glow gear, either a necklace or glasses, to add more light to your search.
Prizes up for grabs include a Meta Quest 3 VR headset, a 43-inch Insignia Smart Fire TV, and the latest over-the-head wireless Bluetooth BEATS.

Saturday, April 4: Spring Egg Hunt Extravaganza on the waterfront
Children ages 1-12 can join the search for eggs or prizes!
Kids from age 1 through 10 can receive a basket or bring their own and then waddle, sprint or scurry toward eggs. Play games and win spring-themed prizes like toy ducks, bubbles, stickers, plush toys, and candy.
Those kids age 11 and 12 can take part in the kid’s scavenger bingo. For completing a row of five activities on their bingo card – such as spreading eggs for littler kids or helping with the petting zoo line – they can earn small prizes.
The Spring Egg Hunt Extravaganza will also feature a petting zoo, a visit from a park’s staffer dressed up as a bunny, spring-themed crafts, an interactive kid’s carnival with prizes, and bunny hop dance lessons.
