Summer series continues at parks across Berkeley. Bring friends, join neighbors, and enjoy movies under the stars.
Our summer series of free movies in Berkeley parks continues this week with the film Minions: The Rise of Gru on June 30 at Strawberry Creek Park.
Join us for this or a future event in our Friday and Saturday night movie series. The series will take place in various parks across the city, reaching neighborhoods from north to south, the flatlands to the hills, and down to Shorebird Park.
Experience each movie on a large 20-foot by 12-foot inflatable movie screen with premium outdoor cinema audio-visual equipment. Next up:

Plan ahead: guidelines and accommodation requests
To ensure a smooth experience, please plan ahead and arrive at least 30 minutes before the movie starts. Limited street parking is available, so we encourage you to take public transit or bike. If you do drive, please park responsibly and avoid blocking nearby driveways.
For comfort, bring blankets, sleeping bags, or low-back beach chairs (maximum height: 9 inches) to avoid blocking the view of others. A flashlight or headlamp will be helpful when leaving at night. Please note that these events are alcohol-free.
If you require an accommodation, reach out to Ginsi Bryant at gbryant@berkeleyca.gov or call or text (510) 926-2585 at least two days prior to the movie date. Staff will assist you with your request.
The City's Parks, Recreation, and Waterfront Department organizes a range of free events, including Movies in the Park, as part of its commitment to fostering inclusivity and ensuring access to a diverse community. In addition to dozens of camps, classes, and activities for all ages, the department also curates a wide range of Berkeley events. Explore the Recreation Division's offerings through our online registration portal for a glimpse of what's available.
Bring a friend, meet up with neighbors, and take your whole family to our movies in parks.
