Berkeley, California (Thursday, December 3, 2020) - In November 2019, a woman in her 20’s was sexually assaulted during the evening after meeting the suspect at a south campus restaurant bar.
After investigating the incident, detectives were able to identify the suspect after obtaining a DNA match from evidence collected after the assault. On the morning of December 1st, officers arrested the suspect at his residence in Oakland, CA.
On December 2nd, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged the suspect (a 23-year-old Oakland man) with PC 261(a)(3)—Rape of an intoxicated person and PC 261(a)(4)—Rape of an unconscious person.
