Berkeley, California (Monday, December 7, 2020) - On November 28th at about 8:30 pm, officers performed a traffic enforcement stop on a car in the area of San Pablo Avenue and Dwight Way.
When the officer contacted the driver, the officer noticed the smell of alcohol beverages and saw cans of Bud Light in the backseat—along with an open container of Brandy. As officers investigated further, they learned that the driver’s License had also been previously suspended.
When officers searched the vehicle, they discovered a loaded handgun, several magazines of additional ammunition, 7+ grams powder cocaine and 5+ grams of rock cocaine.
In case you may be wondering, 7 grams of powder cocaine is about 50+ individual doses and 5 grams of rock cocaine is about 70+ individual doses.
The driver (a 31-year-old Pinole man) was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded/concealed firearm and possession of narcotics for sale.
