Berkeley, California (Tuesday, December 1, 2020) - On November 24th at about 10:22 pm, officers performed a traffic enforcement stop on a car in the area of Adeline Street and Stanford Avenue.
When the officer contacted the two occupants, the passenger kept reaching toward his waistband—despite several warnings to stop.
When officers asked the passenger to step out of the vehicle, a bottle of Patron tequila fell out of the vehicle (…awkward).
When officers searched the vehicle, they discovered a loaded handgun near the front passenger seat and a second loaded handgun in the trunk.
The driver (a 50-year-old San Lorenzo man) and passenger (a 52-year-old Oakland man) were arrested on suspicion of being felons in possession of loaded/concealed firearms.
