Berkeley, California (Monday, November 9, 2020) - On November 8th, just after midnight, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Ashby Avenue and Telegraph Avenue. When officers contacted the two occupants, they could smell the odor of recently burned marijuana and saw a bag of marijuana (over 12 ounces) sitting on the front passenger floor. When officers searched the occupants, officers also found that the passenger was armed with a loaded handgun.
The passenger (a 26-year-old Berkeley man) was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded and concealed firearm and other charges.
