The City of Berkeley invites qualified contractors to submit bids for the Cedar Rose Park 5-12 Playground Renovation and Site Improvements Project, Specification No. 26-11782-C, in Berkeley, CA 94702.
The project scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Renovation of an existing ages 5-12 playground, drainage improvements, and related site improvements.
- Ancillary work as described in the Contract Documents
California Contractor License required: Class A - General Engineering Contractor
Engineer’s Estimate: $1,618,900

Plans and Specifications are enclosed and available on the City of Berkeley’s website at Bid & Proposal Opportunities | City of Berkeley (berkeleyca.gov).
Planholders List: Bidders are responsible for notifying Csilla Kenny, via email at Ckenny@berkeleyca.gov to be included on the Planholders List. Please include the following in the email subject header: “Planholders list for Specification No. 26-11782-C for Cedar Rose Park”.
In the body of the email, please state the Company Name and Address, Name of the Company Representative, Telephone Number, and Email Address.
Pre-Bid Site Conference:
A non-mandatory pre-bid site visit will be held at the existing 5-12 playground at 1300 Rose Street at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2026. Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend and/or visit the project site prior to bidding. The location of work is open to the public during normal business or daylight hours.
For questions concerning the listing of items, the anticipated work, or scope of the project, please contact Csilla Kenny, via email at CKenny@berkeleyca.gov no later than Friday, May 8th, 2026. Answers to questions will not be provided by telephone or email. Rather, answers to all questions or any addenda will be posted on the City of Berkeley’s Bid & Proposal Opportunities webpage. No bids will be accepted after the date and time stated above. Submittal of Response by fax or email is NOT acceptable. Incomplete bids, and bids which do not conform to the requirements specified in the project manual, will not be considered. Issuance of the invitation to bid does not obligate the City to award a contract, nor is the City liable for any costs incurred by the bidder in the preparation and submittal of bids for the subject work. The City retains the right to award all or parts of this contract to several bidders, to not select any bidders, and/or to re-solicit bids. The act of submitting a bid is a declaration that the bidder has read the project manual and understands all the requirements and conditions.
