Street Rehabilitation FY 2023

The City of Berkeley is advertising the Street Rehabilitation FY 2023 project, Specification No. 23-11558-C.  Bids will be received at the General Services Division of the Finance Department of the City of Berkeley, 2180 Milvia Street, 3rd Floor, Berkeley, CA 94704 until 2:00 pm on January 31, 2023.

The Engineer’s estimate for the work is $10,200,000.

The work of the STREET REHABILITATION FY 2023 project consists of the following components:

Street Rehabilitation Work

The work done under this component includes but is not limited to:  traffic control, environmental protections, adjustment of valve boxes and utility boxes, frames, and covers, replacement of survey monuments, protection of underground utility services (e.g. gas, water, sewer, electrical, telecom), concrete curbs and gutters, sidewalk, curb ramps, driveways, cross drains at curb ramps, valley gutters, drainage, crack sealing, base failure repairs, ARAM cape seal, cold planing, removal and disposal of pavement surfaces and base materials, stabilization, hot-mix asphalt (HMA) and rubberized hot-mix asphalt (RHMA) paving, speed tables, traffic diverter, pavement markings, striping, markers, signage, and traffic loops as specified.

Derby Street Pavement Rehabilitation

The work done under this component includes but is not limited to:  traffic control, environmental protections, adjustment of valve boxes and utility boxes, frames, and covers, replacement of survey monuments, protection of underground utility services (e.g. gas, water, sewer, electrical, telecom), concrete curbs and gutters, sidewalk, curb ramps, driveways, cross drains at curb ramps, drainage, base failure repairs, cold planing, removal and disposal of pavement surfaces and base materials, stabilization, paving mat, hot-mix asphalt (HMA) paving, speed tables, pavement markings, striping, markers, signage, and traffic loops as specified.

The work under this component is described in the bid documents, including but not limited to:

• Plans, titled Derby Street Pavement Rehabilitation.
• Technical Specifications, with associated bid items indicated with the prefix “B”.

California Contractor License Classification required:

A          General Engineering
