Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD) Workforce Housing Development

The Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD) Workforce Housing Project broke ground in June 2025, led by development team Satellite Affordable Housing Associates and Abode Communities. An optimistic timeline puts the completion date for BUSD workforce housing availability in 2027.  This development will provide 110 new affordable and middle-income housing units and will prioritize spaces for BUSD employees. Educator Workforce Housing will help the District to recruit and retain quality educators, both certificated and classified employees.
