WHAT'S HAPPENING
This is a Measure T1 Phase 2 project.
The Tom Bates Regional Sports Complex is considered to be the most highly used fields in the region. The recently replaced artificial fields provide up to 300,000 players and serves approximately 19,000 youth and adults annually.
This project will bring important upgrades to the site, adding facilities that are currently missing—such as restrooms and spaces for community gatherings. Planned improvements to the Tom Bates Regional Sports Complex include:
- A new fieldhouse with five restroom stalls (three ADA-accessible), a multi-use room, and storage space
- Six pickleball courts
- A natural turf U8 soccer field
- A new entrance at the south end of the existing parking lot, featuring stairs and an ADA-accessible ramp
- An outdoor plaza and welcoming open spaces with seating and shade
- New landscaping and irrigation throughout the area
These enhancements are designed to make the complex more accessible, functional, and enjoyable for everyone in the community. The project is currently in contracting/permitting with construction set to begin May/June 2026. The project is anticipated to be completed by mid-2027.
