The City of Berkeley is developing a three-year plan outlining how it will allocate Behavioral Health Services Act funding from the State of California. Let us know what you think the greatest behavioral health needs are in our community.

ABOUT THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES ACT
Learn how Berkeley uses State of California funding from the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) to transform and expand local mental health services. Community members are encouraged to participate by providing input on current plans, projects, and local behavioral health needs.
The Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) is an update to an expansion of the previous MHSA funding components and program allowances. Changes include:
- Prioritizing services for individuals with the most significant mental health needs
- Adding services for individuals experiencing substance use disorders (SUD)
- Expanding housing interventions
- Enhancing oversight, transparency, and accountability at the state and local levels
- Increasing equitable access to care
