Bring your board out to the Berkeley Skate Park for music, food trucks, and a celebration of the legendary skater Ron Allen.
Join us in celebrating a skateboarding legend, the Bay Area's very own Ron Allen. Rising to prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s, Ron Allen is recognized as the first African American professional skateboarder. At the age of 62, he continues to challenge the limits of what is possible on a skateboard and remains a true trailblazer in the sport.
Ron is a familiar presence at the skate park, where everyone knows him. He has been a positive influence in the community, teaching and mentoring young skaters throughout his long and storied career. His contributions to skateboarding culture deserve to be celebrated, and this event is a wonderful way for the city to give back to the community and support its youth.
The Ron Allen Skate Jam is free to the public and will feature a video presentation, raffles, live music, food trucks, and more!
