  • Traffic Unit

    The mission of the Traffic Bureau is to promote safety and reduce collision through education and enforcement of the traffic laws and ordinances contained in the California Vehicle Code and the Berkeley Municipal Code.

  • Records Unit

    The Records Unit is responsible for all reports that are generated by the Department. The Records Bureau is the repository, retrieval and records management center for all official incident reports and warrants for the city.

  • Jail Facility

    The facility houses up to 40 detainees and is used for incarceration between arrest and arraignment.

  • Property and Evidence Room

    Property and Evidence is responsible for the secure storage of all property and evidence that comes to the department from various sources. Property collected as evidence, recovered from any source, or turned over as found property or for safe keeping, is stored in the Property and Evidence Room.
