Successor Agency to the Berkeley Redevelopment Agency
The Successor Agency is tasked with holding the former Redevelopment Agency’s unobligated funds. It is also charged with 1) paying off the former Redevelopment Agency’s existing debts; 2) disposing of the former Redevelopment Agency’s properties and assets (to raise funds that would pay debts and return revenues to the local government entities that formerly received property taxes); and 3) winding up the affairs of the former Redevelopment Agency.
