BEACON Network
Community organizations serving people with disabilities and seniors can register to connect directly with the City on emergency preparedness and during disasters.
Community organizations that represent or serve people with disabilities or seniors in Berkeley can register for membership in Berkeley Emergency Accessible Community Organizations Network (BEACON). BEACON is a hub for information-sharing and collaboration between organizations and the City of Berkeley. Through BEACON, the City aims to provide relevant, timely information about disaster planning and response to the people of Berkeley through the organizations they already trust and rely on, and to provide an opportunity for inclusive community disaster planning.
The two types of memberships are:
- Basic - Regular communication regarding disaster planning and preparedness activities and targeted information following disasters.
- Active – Participate in regular meetings to collaborate on the creation of events for organizations and individuals and participate in inclusive planning.
To become a member, fill out the registration form and submit it to the Office of Emergency Services or via email.
