Berkeley Black Infant Health
The Berkeley Black Infant Health (BBIH) Program works toward meeting the health-related needs of pregnant and postpartum Black mothers and infants in Berkeley. BBIH targets self-identifying Black women in Berkeley who have a need for physical and mental health resources and social support in a culturally relevant setting, so that they can improve their well-being and the quality of life for their babies. Staff provide stress-management and skill-building classes, health information, infant clothing, diapers/wipes, childcare referrals, transportation vouchers, and one-on-one case management and community group support meetings.
Black Infant Health services are by appointment only. For more information about the program, or to schedule an appointment, call 510-981-5167 or email phmailbox@berkeleyca.gov.
