Children, parents, and caregivers can access free health and wellness services.
Women, Infants, and Children
The Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program provides free nutrition education, food vouchers, breastfeeding support, and referrals. Low-income women who are or were recently pregnant, and low-income children under the age of five may be eligible. Learn more about WIC.
Berkeley Black Infant Health
The Berkeley Black Infant Health (BBIH) Program supports the health of pregnant and postpartum Black mothers and infants in Berkeley. BBIH provides physical and mental health resources and social support in a culturally relevant setting, so that participants can improve their well-being and the quality of life for their babies. Staff provide stress-management and skill-building classes, health information, referral services, and group/individual support meetings.
Eligibility:
- Identify as an African-American mother and pregnant, postpartum, or parenting a child ages 0-5 years old

Berkeley Fatherhood Initiative
The Fatherhood Initiative Program creates a space for fathers and father figures to meet, celebrate fatherhood, discuss topics related to fatherhood, challenges, tips, and share resources to support positive fatherhood. The goal of the program is to help fathers thrive in their role as loving, engaged, and healthy parents in their children’s lives.
Eligibility:
- Live, work, play, or pray, in Berkeley, CA
- Identify as a father or a father-figure

School-based Health Centers
The City of Berkeley’s Public Health Division partners with Berkeley Public Schools to provide health services for teens. The Health Centers at Berkeley High School and Berkeley Technology Academy offer free physical and mental health services, and health education for students.
Eligibility:
- Current student at Berkeley High School or Berkeley Technology Academy

Parents-as-Teachers
The Parents-as-Teachers Program provides no-cost support for Medi-Cal–eligible City of Berkeley residents with children in grades K–8. Families can get personalized help from a Public Health case manager. Case managers can help connect families with medical, dental, and behavioral health care. They also provide referrals for housing, food, transportation, and educational support.
Eligibility:
- Medi-Cal eligible City of Berkeley residents
- Have a child in grades K-8
