Reserve a City of Berkeley space for your wedding, meeting, or performance. Choose from parks, community centers, camps, and amphitheaters based on your event.

Start by submitting a reservation request online or via email. City staff will review your request, confirm availability, and help you complete the reservation.

Weddings and ceremonies
Choose a beautiful setting for your wedding, whether it’s a scenic garden in town, a redwood grove, a waterfront vista, or a camp in the Sierra mountains.

Outdoor performances and classes
Host a performance, concert, lecture, or outdoor class in one of our amphitheaters or flexible outdoor spaces.

Reserve Adventure Playground for groups
Reserve Adventure Playground for groups of 5 or more children. Available daily in two 2-hour time slots. Fees vary by group size.
Retreats and group celebrations in the Sierra
Host your group retreat, reunion, or celebration in the Sierras at one of our City-operated camps.
Sierra camps:

Open: September to mid-October - Tuolumne Camp, near Yosemite National Park (Up to 300 people)

Free Facility Rentals for Community Groups
Nonprofits, neighborhood groups, and City of Berkeley Community Agency Contract groups can apply for a no-cost room reservation at Berkeley community centers. To do this, submit a Special Use Rental Application once per year.
Send you completed application by email to recreation@berkeleyca.gov or drop it off at any community center.
Your application must include:
- Your group type
- Proof of approved meetings
- A non-discrimination statement
- A description of your group’s goals and how they align with Parks, Recreation, and Waterfront Department goals
- A membership roster
- Proof of non-profit status, if applicable
Approved groups can hold up to eight two-hour meetings and one larger event each year. Meetings must be open to the public, take place during regular hours, and cannot involve commercial or fundraising activities. Groups are responsible for setup and cleanup, and must give at least 72 hours’ notice to cancel.
Reservation process and rules
Most facility rentals follow the same steps:
- Submit a request for the space you want to reserve.
- City staff will contact you to confirm availability and details.
- You’ll complete payment and submit any required documents to finalize the reservation.
Before submitting your request, please review the General Facility Rules. A few key rules to know:
- Alcohol is not allowed at any event.
- Charging admission or soliciting donations is not permitted.
- Any event with amplified sound, such as a speaker or PA system, requires a Noise Permit.
Additional requirements, including special event permits may apply depending on the group size, location, type of event, food, and activities beyond normal use. City staff will walk you through any special conditions.
