Summer Playground Programs

Sign your child up for a Summer Playground Program to give them some summertime playground fun. Children ages 5-12 will enjoy a variety of activities such as games, arts and crafts, sports, swimming, and making new friends, all while being supervised by trained City of Berkeley staff.

  June 8 - August 7, 2026, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
• Grove Park, 1730 Oregon Street
  June 8 - July 31, 2026 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Low-income Residents have priority registration

The priority registration period for low-income residents starts January 13, 2026 and ends on April 22, 2026. 

To apply for priority registration:

1. Complete the Playground Program Application Form
   1. Complete one form for every two children
   2. Application Form includes low-income affidavit
2. Provide Proof of Residency (Utility Bill or Diver’s License/Government ID)
3. Submit application form and documents to Assistant Recreation Coordinator, Joaquim Lee at jolee@berkeleyca.gov or dropped off in-person at MLK Youth Services Center, 1730 Oregon Street.

General registration will begin May 23, 2026.
